Melancholy & caffeinated  indie pop

With a subtle strength and an uplifting indie pop sound, Stassi's energy comes from her love of music production and of dark roast coffee.  Showing her pop, folk, and blues influences, Stassi's calming and robust vocals recall artists like Daughter, Ed Sheeran, and Kina Grannis.

A California native with Greek roots, Stassi began posting covers and demos of original songs online in 2011, gaining recognition from artists like Zedd and Gavin James for her covers of their songs. In 2016, Stassi released a 6-song self-produced EP titled "A Year Ago" chronicling her decision to quit her tech-support job and the angst and joy of being a young adult. Recently, she collaborated with EDM producer APEK on the future bass track "Supernatural".

With influences like Radiohead, Amy Winehouse, Paramore, Bon Iver, and Lorde, Stassi continues to develop her production and recording style as she writes her next EP, set to be released in 2018.

Stassi, real name Marie Stassi, is half-Greek and grew up in Sunnyvale, CA and later relocated to Santa Barbara, CA for college. Her love of music began at the age of eight, when she first began playing the guitar and performing, and soon she discovered the rush of tinkering with Garageband on her parents' computer. All her pursuits in life are fueled by coffee and a whimsical curiosity about the world and the people in it.  In her free time, you'll usually find Stassi at a cafe researching music, messaging her listeners, redditing, or reading about psychology.
