Goodnight Moon

Lyrics:

In the end, you are my friend
Somehow brought me here until I leave again
So I stay, voice in head
Wondering, each thing I do, what you'd do instead

But it's alright, so goodnight
you follow me down, bring me back out again
Goodnight, goodnight moon
Goodnight, I'll see you soon

I felt some weight, you taught me lift it
I felt some joy, you taught me gift it
And in the end, you are my friend
Somehow I am here until I leave again

But it's alright, so goodnight
you follow me down, bring me back out again
Goodnight, goodnight moon
Goodnight, I'll see you soon

We get heated, undefeated
hitting one another like it's some kind of game
then it's gone because
I just light up
anytime you say my name

About 'Goodnight Moon':

I essentially wrote this song because I was depressed and was trying to comfort myself. I sort of imagine singing it to a person I care about -- having this honest moment talking about life and death, and how petty and shitty we can be, even when we both know we love each other. A lot of the songs on the EP stem from a place trying to accept that everything ends and learning to let that still be okay.
